The Original Roast
Our Signature Open-Fire Roast
The one that started it all. Roasted over an open wood fire until we hit that perfect 'toasted oak' note, then sealed with a thin coat of raw Ozark honey. The result is a medium roast with gentle smoke, a whisper of sweetness on the finish, and a clean, bright body that makes you slow down and actually taste your coffee.

The Story Behind the Roast
The Original Roast was born from a simple question: what would coffee taste like if we roasted it the way our grandparents cooked โ over real fire, with real patience? After months of experimenting with different wood types, flame heights, and timing, we found the sweet spot. White oak gives the cleanest smoke. A medium flame lets the sugars caramelize without burning. And that final honey seal? That was a happy accident that became our signature.
Origin & Sourcing
We source these beans from a single-origin farm in the highlands of Guatemala, where volcanic soil and high altitude produce a naturally sweet, complex bean. Our direct trade relationship means the farmers receive fair compensation, and we get first pick of each harvest. The beans arrive green, unroasted, and full of potential โ then we transform them over open flame in small 5-pound batches.
How to Brew
The Original Roast shines in nearly every brewing method. For pour-over, use a 1:16 ratio with water just off boil (200ยฐF). For French press, steep 4 minutes with a coarse grind. For cold brew, use a 1:8 ratio and steep 16-18 hours. The honey seal means these beans stay fresh longer than conventional roasts โ up to 3 weeks after opening without losing their character.
