The Roast That Started a Fire

One open flame. One thin coat of raw Ozark honey. One cup you won't stop thinking about. The Original is a medium roast with a soul — gentle woodsmoke, a whisper of honey on the finish, and a clean, bright body that begs you to slow down and actually taste your coffee. This is the roast that makes people stop and ask, "wait… what is this?"

Roasted Over Real Fire

We asked a simple question: what if we roasted coffee the way our grandparents cooked — over live fire, with real patience? Months of trial (and a lot of woodsmoke) later, we found the sweet spot. White oak for the cleanest smoke. A steady medium flame to caramelize the sugars without scorching. And that final honey seal? A theory, which required a great deal of practice to perfect, that became our signature — and soon, your morning ritual.

Beans With a Backstory

Every batch begins on a single-origin farm high in the Guatemalan highlands, where volcanic soil and thin mountain air grow a naturally sweet, complex bean. Our direct-trade relationship means farmers are paid fairly and we get first pick of the harvest — then we roast it over open flame in small 5-pound batches. No shortcuts. No warehouse. Just fire and care.

Brew It Your Way

The Original plays beautifully with any method. Pour-over: 1:16 ratio, water just off the boil (200°F). French press: coarse grind, 4-minute steep. Cold brew: 1:8, 16–18 hours. Bonus — the honey seal keeps these beans tasting fresh up to 3 weeks after opening.

How to Brew

1

Measure

Use 2 tablespoons (14g) per 6oz of water. Adjust to taste.

2

Heat

Bring water to 200°F (just off boil). Too hot burns the honey seal.

3

Brew

Pour slowly, let bloom 30 seconds. Total brew time: 3-4 minutes.

4

Enjoy

Sip slowly. Let the honey-sealed sweetness unfold with each taste.

Frequently Asked

What does "open fire roasted" mean?
Our beans are roasted over real open flame — not in industrial drum roasters. This gives each batch a subtle smokiness and depth you can't get from conventional roasting. It's slower, harder to control, and worth every second.
What is honey sealing?
After roasting, we coat each batch with a thin layer of raw, local honey while the beans are still warm. This seals in freshness, adds a whisper of natural sweetness, and creates our signature flavor profile. No artificial flavoring — just real honey from Ozark apiaries.
How should I store my coffee?
Keep your beans in the sealed bag at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. For best flavor, use within 3 weeks of opening. We don't recommend freezing — the honey seal preserves freshness naturally.
